Background
Midterm outcomes of arthroscopic labral repair are less well documented across multiple centers.
Methods
This multicenter cohort study followed 303 patients for a mean of 5.7 years after labral repair, assessing PROs and analyzing risk factors such as age, BMI, and Tönnis grade.
Key Findings
Significant improvements in all PROs were observed. Worse outcomes correlated with Tönnis grade 2, BMI >30, and age >35. Revision surgery was needed in 12.2%.
Conclusions
Labral repair provides sustained midterm benefit, but older age, higher BMI, and more advanced arthritis may reduce outcomes.
What Does This Mean for Providers?
Providers should counsel patients with advanced arthritis, higher BMI, or older age regarding potentially less favorable midterm outcomes and discuss realistic expectations post-labral repair.
